What does a Landscape Gardener do?
A Landscape Gardener is a Landscaping and Horticultural service provider who offer non-structural services such as soft landscaping and garden maintenance, i.e. work that does not require building permits or for the member to hold RBP status. This includes, but is not limited to:
- preparing and maintaining seedbeds and growing sites
- propagating and planting trees, bushes, hedges, flowers and bulbs
- preparing lawn areas by spreading top soil and planting grass, and by laying instant turf
- maintaining planted and grassed areas by weeding, trimming, fertilising, watering and mowing
- pruning trees and hedges, and installing plant support and protection devices
- preparing plans and drawings, selecting materials and plants, and scheduling landscape construction
- setting out and installing hardscape and softscape structures
- constructing gravel and paved areas, walls, retaining walls, fences, pergolas, ponds, barbecues and garden furniture
- examining trees to assess their condition and determine treatment
- lopping limbs off trees and shaping branches using chain and handsaws
So that our quotes are as accurate as possible, we generally discourage over the phone quotes and prefer to book in an onsite visit with you. It not only helps us to meet you and offer a free consultation, but there are also a number of things we need to assess which will impact the investment. These are things such as access to the garden, waste removal volume, what permits (if any) are required, the state of the garden prior to work commencing and the time the project will take.
It is very difficult to determine the scope of work required from a photograph. Often things are missed in photos that can influence a quoted price. We also need to assess a number of other factors such as access to the property and other things that might influence a quoted amount.
The majority of our clients are located in the Bayside, Stonnington and Boorondara region of Melbourne, however we do have clients all over Melbourne that we provide ongoing maintenance services to.

Dogs are not a problem if they are friendly. If you dog feels threatened or is unsettled having someone unfamiliar at their home, then we recommend that they are inside or out for a walk whilst your property is serviced.
You don’t need to be home whilst we service your garden, a lot of our clients work during the day. If we need to access the property through locked gates we request that a key is provided on the day of service or that they are left open for us.
Generally speaking, we work through the elements. However, if we feel the weather is going to affect the outcome the quality of work or the safety of staff we will let you know beforehand and reschedule.
As often as required. Everyone’s needs vary and we can set up a schedule that reflects this
Not at all. We are extremely considerate and careful if we have to enter your property. We place sheeting down to protect floors and take care about moving things in and out. We always make sure we clean up after ourselves.
During the initial phone inquiry, we will first gather basic information as to the work required and then arrange for a free callout and consultation to discuss the project in more detail. The site will be assessed and then options and recommendations provided. A rough design idea and estimate will be agreed upon after which a more finished design and quote for the project will be presented at a second meeting.
We are available to meet clients during daytime and evening hours.
Yes, all rubbish directly related to the project will be removed.

We do. Maintenance contracts are available to clients requiring a more regular service.
Yes, we do take credit card payments. Should you wish to pay by credit card, this facility is available by calling our office. A surcharge of 2.25% will be added to the invoice total.
